Colored Glass with Enamel Paints

Glass is not just a fundamental element in architecture; it's recognized as one of the primary components in architectural design. Enamel glass, also known as Vinamel or painted (tinted) glass, allows designers to incorporate various colors into their glass elements, allowing them to select their preferred hues.
Traditionally, plain and colorless glass panes were cut to size, tempered, and then colored with special paints before or after the tempering process. However, in modern glass manufacturing, there's a shift towards producing glass panes with an enamel coating. After coating, these panes are cut to the desired sizes and tempered. Known as enamel glasses or Vinamel, they are available in various colors, each pane produced with an enamel coating.
The innovative Vinamel approach involves coating glass panels with high-quality ceramic enamel. Once initially baked, this colored enamel exhibits exceptional adhesion and durability. It allows the glass to undergo cutting and other secondary processing methods without compromising its structural integrity. The primary advantage lies in the enduring quality of this enamel; it resists wear and tear, remaining unblemished over time. This resilience is owed to the enamel's integration into the glass during the furnace process, ensuring a durable bond that lasts.
